Benefits of a Plant and why you should have them!

“The Best time to Plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second Best time is NOW!”

Ever heard green as anyone’s favourite colour? Trust me it wasn’t my favourite colour either. Only till I found the secret and the beauty it possesses. My grandma always told me that as greens are important for your stomach similarly greens are also important for your home.

Yes, you are guessing it right, the greens that we are talking about are nothing but the valuable plants. Plants hold creditable properties through which we can benefit a lot. Having said that I would be sharing 4 reasons as to why we should make place for plants in our home.

  1. Fresh air
  2. Humidity
  3. Therapeutic Effect
  4. Home Garden

Fresh and Pure air: As we all studied in our school, plants synthesis carbon dioxide to oxygen. So, plants play major role in providing unadulterated oxygen as also increasing the oxygen level in our surroundings. With this, it also decreases the levels of other harmful pollutants like benzene and nitrogen dioxide. Basically, plants act as a filter to harmful pollutants even reduces dust in the air, providing a healthy air for you and your family.

There are a lot of dangerous viral air borne diseases that can be fatal. But plants can surely be shield for such viruses.

Humidity: Nowadays Humidifiers are trending, and I am sure that one of those would be in your shopping cart too. But hold on till you read this till the end. It is highly recommended to have a perfect level of humidity in your house which ranges between 30 to 50 percent. This is necessary for a comfortable and healthy space. Now if I tell you that this can also be done by buying natural resource like plants rather than taking mechanised option. In the months of winter, when the air is too dry and the humidity level is low, plants can help you maintain humidity level in its expected range. On the other hand, Summers when the sun is harsh and the temperatures are too high, plants will help to keep the temperatures low; keeping your home a bit cooler then outside.

Therapeutic Effect: Plants have innumerable mysterious properties and one of those being, it can absorb sound. Don’t be surprised! because it is true. Plants are used by almost all interior designers as a tool to reduce noise level maybe within the premises or outdoor. Hence plants help you giving a silent, calm and nothing more than a therapeutic effect. This relatively helps in decreasing stress level and a more focused vision to your daily activities; as a result, increasing productivity towards your work.

A simple example to how exactly plants can give a relaxing/calming effect can be observed while, you are working on laptop/phone/tablets etc. for hours and then just for 10 seconds have a glance at a healthy green plant. You will notice that your eyeball will start relaxing and feeling lighter. This was my personal experience.

Home Garden: Which vegetables do you buy—Bio or the non-Bio ones? Bio ones! Does that mean that the non-bio ones are unhealthy? We all have same thought process when we are in the supermarket. Maybe they both are healthy, but we can avoid risking it by cultivating our own! Everyone likes fresh and healthy vegetables. The best way to get them would be sowing them in your own house and having the benefit of eating it fresh and healthy as it can be. Having your own garden with even a few edible plants will help you having a healthier life. For a healthy soul you need to eat healthy and for that you need to grow healthy Greens!

Hope you all are motivated to make spaces in your homes to put some greens. “The one that lives for others” is exactly what I would like to call Plants as!
