3 Teas everyone should drink
Chai! Chai!! Chai!!!
Tea lovers are spread all around the world, which makes it one of the most commonly consumed beverages. And having said that, you will agree to the fact that, most of the human population start their day with a hot cup of tea. It is so tempting that, people have on an average of about 2-3 cups a day and that number exceeds for the people who are fanatic over tea.
Feeling low, had a rough day, feeling bored, lets catch up are all good and new generation´s reasons to have tea. Reading this post on tea, is also not a bad reason to fill yourself a hot cup of Tea. No hurry, I can wait till you make yourself comfortable with, a nice cup of Tea. Now it´s no big of a surprise to tell you that tea has amazing beneficial and soothing properties. And so today we are talking about few of my favourite teas and its benefits.
Good to know
Tea contains antioxidants like polyphenol and flavonoids that helps the body to fight against cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer etc. by strengthening the immune system.
Drinking tea helps to burn bad cholesterol and fat in the body, making you fit and healthy.
Tea contains less caffeine content than coffee, this gives an alternative to those who have side-effects like dizziness and high on heart beats by drinking coffee.
It is used in cosmetic and beauty products as tea bears some incredible soothing and rejuvenating effects.
Consuming tea daily can make bones stronger; also, can help maintaining good dental hygiene.
Many people drink tea before going to bed, to have a ´Good Night´ sleep.
Tea as we all know is good for human, also works wonders for the plants. Makes a great fertilizer.
To keep the aroma and fragrance of the tea, it is best to store them in air tight containers. Tea tends to absorb moisture which may result in lose of aroma if stored loose.
Before getting to that, let me tell you a bit about myself, I was new to herbal or flavoured tea, as I had been drinking Indian Tea all my life, about which I will talk in my next post. So, today I am going to share few of my recent favourite teas, and I think you should too give it a try, if you haven´t till now.
Fennel Tea
Back home, in India, we have a tradition of eating fennel seeds after every meal of the day. This tradition was carried out by our ancestors and is still alive. Indian´s use fennel seeds in cooking as a spice and so you may find fennel seeds in a lot of Indian dishes. The flavour is very refreshing. These seeds are mostly used or eaten raw. However, some people even like it roasted. I believed that the seeds helped in good digestion and acted as a great mouth refresher. It is when, I started drinking the fennel tea, I realized that, it does more wonder than I knew. Few of them being:
Benefits of Fennel Tea
- Helps in weight loss.
- Reduces cramps, bloating, gas and heart burns.
- Helps in reducing pain during menstrual cycle
- Detoxifies body with its anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties, as also boosts immunity levels
- Consumption of fennel tea keeps the body hydrated.
- Regulates blood sugar, blood pressure and heart rate.
- Encourages good sleep. These are few of the amazing benefits of fennel tea, which is a good reason for you and me to drink this tea daily. And, if you haven’t tried it yet then what´s the loss in trying! If you do not find it in the market, then you can easily make it at home.
Preparation:
Take about 2 tbs of fennel seeds
Crush the seeds till they release oil and put them in a cup
Now, add boiling water to this and let it simmer for 10 mins.
Cover the cup with a lid, so that the nutrients do not escape, and the tea remains hot.
After 10 mins, its ready!
Enjoy your tea!
Chamomile Tea
My next favourite on the list is the Chamomile tea. The flowers used in this tea, in one of my native language Hindi, are called ´Babune ka Phal´. These flowers are found majorly in parts of Asia, Europe, Australia and America. The chamomile flowers possess incredible medical properties and beauty benefits. That´s the reason it is used in natural and herbal remedies. Recent studies state that the German chamomile flowers have the strongest concentration of the beneficial compounds and nutrients, which can be embraced by drinking the tea on a regular basis. That is not all, here´s a quick view as to, why we should drink this tea.

Preparation:
Take some Chamomile flowers, wash them and add to the cup or a tea pot.
Add boiling water to the cup/tea pot.
For additional flavour add a slice or two of your favourite fruit.
Cover the cup/pot with a lid and let it steep for 10 mins
After 10 mins, the tea is ready!
Add raw honey and enjoy your tea.
Ginger Lemon Tea
The Ginger Lemon Tea, as the name suggests is the combination of two most nutritive ingredients. The ginger works profitably on our body and helps improving immunity. On similar notes, the lemon has anti-bacterial, anti-fungal properties, which detoxifies our body. This tea is at a stellar position, with such combination and so much to gain out of it. Ginger Lemon tea is a strong, high on flavour tea, with the throat soothing effect of ginger and the tanginess of lemon. With so said, there are a lot of other benefits to this tea.

And, here is the answer
There are two ways to have this delicious beverage, hot and cold. Either ways it will make you feel rejuvenated.
Preparation:
Take 2-3 slices of lemon and 1 inch of ginger.
Cut the ginger in thin slices and add them to a cup or a tea pot
Add boiling hot water to the cup/pot
Let the components steep for 12-15 mins
After 15 mins, the tea is ready
Enjoy the tea, add some honey if desired.
